Frank Flanagan

Frank Flanagan enters his 13th season coaching at the club level and will spend his 9th season with Iowa Select as the Director and one of the Co-founders of the organization. 


Frank was born and raised in southern California where he grew up playing volleyball throughout his childhood and high school years. 


Frank went on to compete at El Camino College and finished his sophomore season leading the state in assists and finished 3rd in digs.


Frank competed at St. Ambrose from 2014-16 seasons, ending his playing career in the final four in 2016. 


Since 2014, Frank has coached at Assumption High School, spent 2 seasons as the head coach at Alleman High School, and 3 years as an assistant coach with the Augustana College Men's and Women's Programs. In 2022, Frank returned to Assumption High School and won the 3A Iowa State Championship.

Makani Cantor

Makani Cantor enters his 18th season as an assistant coach for the Grand View Viking volleyball program and has been an instrumental part of its recent success, including a school-record fifth-place finish at the 2013 and 2018 NAIA National Championships. 


Cantor was named AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018. He has also been named Heart of America Conference Assistant Coach of the Year since 2017. Cantor also supported the Vikings Men’s Volleyball Team for the first 2 years of the program’s inception


Cantor came to Grand View after serving as an assistant coach at Northwestern State University and Graceland University, where he played collegiately. He also coached for Iowa Power Volleyball Alliance as the program's 17's coach from 2006-2009. He also has coached for Iowa HP for over a decade.


 He resides in West Des Moines with his wife and two kids and originally hails from Hawaii.

Marc Neef

Marc is entering his 17th year coaching at the collegiate level and 21st year overall. 

He originally hails from Spokane, Missouri where he was a student assistant for his high school girls' volleyball team. 


He went on to coach throughout his college career at Cornell College and in his 7 seasons with the Rams he helped the program reach the NCAA tournament 4 times concluding in a sweet 16 appearance in 2014. 


For the past decade Marc has been at the Division 1 level. Starting at UCF as a volunteer coach, then technical coordinator and director of operations, and ultimately an assistant for the Knights. in 2017 Marc moved to Stony Brook University where he helped the program win its first conference championships in program history. Since 2022, Marc has been an Assistant Coach at Iowa State University, training multiple first time All Americans and All Big XII performers in his tenure.
